Bon Jovi News, Tour Dates, Concert Dates for 2012 :
Since its heyday in the 1980s, the New Jersey native band Bon Jovi has soared to fame as one of the most successful Pop-Rock outfits in music history. With Richie Sambora on lead guitar, David Bryan on keys, Tico Torres on drums, and of course Jon Bon Jovi on the mic, Bon Jovi has been making hit records and touring the globe with great success.

Bon Jovi Tour DatesThough the original two Bon Jovi albums would eventually reach platinum status, it would not be until 1986 album Slippery When Wet that Bon Jovi would make a impact on the world of music. Slippery When Wet would feature future classics like Wanted Dead or Alive, You Give Love a Bad Name, and the definitive Bon Jovi song Livin’ on a Prayer. Slippery When Wet would surpass even the diamond certification and continues to sell well to this day.

Follow-up album New Jersey ensured that Bon Jovi avoided the label of one hit wonder and roared from the 1980s to the 1990s with hits Bad Medicine and I’ll Be There For You. Bon Jovi kept on rolling with albums Keep The Faith and These Days. the group’s complete rule over music got one of its biggest boosts in the 21st century thanks to the radio hit “It's My Life” from the album Crush.

The band not only maintains its reign atop the charts but also rules the tour trail as one of the world’s most in-demand live acts. Recent Bon Jovi album Lost Highway was another platinum notch in the discography thanks to singles Lost Highway and (You Want To) Make A Memory. The ensuing 2007 Lost Highway Tour sold over $250 million in tickets. With a new greatest hits album to be released in 2009, another classic Bon Jovi tour is sure to follow.

Bon Jovi: Slippery When Wet, Or Even When Touring :
Bon Jovi have been on the go as a rock band for 24 years, and at the top of their game for just as long. Formed in 1983 by lead singer Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, bassist Alec John Such, and drummer Tico Torres, the band have amassed record sales and adulation the world over, and have been reponsible for some of the most memorable rock tracks produced throughout the 1980's and 1990's.

Bon Jovi ConcertsTheir first two albums released in their first two years sold at mediocre levels; the group only reaching number 71 in the UK - although 7800 Fahrenheit faired sightly better at number 28. But it wasn't until the release of Slippery When Wet in 1986, and New Jersey two years later, that they really hit the big time. These albums sold 19 million copies and earned them eight top ten single hits; to put it another way, they launched the band into stratospheric stardom.

With the success of these albums also came a heavy tour schedule, which saw them travel the world almost constantly over the next two years. They eventually took a break in 1990, during which time Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora both released successful solo albums.

In 1992 the band returned to the music scene as though they had never left, with the hugely successful Keep the Faith album, and have since gone on to regularly and consistently release further albums, all them going platinum.

In 2006 they won their first Grammy with Who Says You Can't Go Home, for Best Country Collaboration with Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland. They also became the first rock band to reach number 1 in the Hot Country Songs chart with the same song.

Throughout their career, the band released ten studio albums, and in addition charted 19 singles that made it into the Top 40, four of which landed at number 1: You Give Love a Bad Name, Livin' On A Prayer, Bad Medicine and I'll Be There for You.

The band also holds the record for the most weeks spent at number 1 for a hard rock album with Slippery When Wet, as well as the most Top 10 singles from a hard rock album with New Jersey, which charted five singles.

Over the past 24 years, they have sold over 120 million albums worldwide, 34 million of those in the United States alone, making them undisputably the kings of modern day rock and roll.

Think of an arena filled with rocking music and a good-looking group with 10,000 volts of energy; think of ‘Bon Jovi’! The band has been entertaining the audience since 1983. Even today, when the name of Bon Jovi appears, the crowd goes hysterical. Whether it’s a romantic number or a rasping one, once you hear Bon Jovi, you will forget everyone else!

Bon Jovi in Concert and on TourIn 2007, the album “Lost Highway” created a sensation. During their “Have A Nice Day” tour for the promotion of their album, the band managed to capture millions of hearts and set them on fire.

The present members of this band include Jon, whose real name is John Francis Bongiovi. He is the guitarist and pianist of the band. He also plays harmonica and handles the lead vocals. Then we have Richie Sambora, who plays the lead guitar. At times, you can also see Richie with a sitar.

Besides, there is Tico Torres, drummer and percussionist of the band, and David Bryan, who plays keyboards. In addition to this, there are Hugh McDonald and Alec John Such, who plays bass guitar. David, Richie, and Hugh also lend their voice to the band.

The popularity of the band can be seen from the fact that their three albums have achieved multi-platinum status. Their “Slippery When Wet” released in 1986, “New Jersey” released in 1988, and “Keeping the Faith” released in 1992. During this time, critics were on a ‘high’ filling up the blank spaces of magazines and newspapers with their opinion about the band’s popularity. Fingers were kept crossed on the question that whether ‘Bon Jovi’ would be able to retain the huge fan base that they had created through these multi-platinum albums.

Bon Jovi Concerts and TicketsHowever, everyone was in for a surprise when the band subtly shifted their image from metal band to arena-rock band. They also tried their hand in ballads. The shift was a success! Bon Jovi became the only 80’s pop-metal band of America to retain a colossal fan base even after a decade.

In the 2000s, the audience for their concerts multiplied more than ever. Their composition “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” topped the country music chart. In 2002, the band released their 8th album titled “Bounce.” This was a special effort put in by the band to show the world that people had the capacity to bounce back after the tragic 9/11 event, when WTO was attacked by terrorists. It also depicted the band’s long lasting nature and its high spirit.

“Have A Nice Day”, released in 2005, broke records by topping the charts in Canada and managing the second position on the Billboard 200. But there’s nothing compared to watching the electric band perform live on stage. It instills a fire in you. You can’t sit still on your seats when Bon Jovi performs! And if you are a party animal and love to groove, then you should not miss this band’s concerts at any cost! Book your Bon Jovi tickets now by dialing a number to avoid disappointment.
